The Ents are greatly concerned by the residual effects of Nurzum's rampage through the Balewood and the appearance of blackened roots sprouting near his destruction.
Near the sites of the Stone's influence, foul roots have sprouted from the frozen earth. Unless they are slashed, these roots will continue to trip and strangle passers-by and pose a threat to the future of the Balewood and Fangorn.
Twisted roots of the Balewood have risen through the snow near sites of Núrzum's presence to strangle all passers-by. These roots must be cleaved to protect the other trees and Ents of the Balewood.
